MyEllevate® is a non-surgical treatment option designed to rejuvenate the skin of the neck for a smoother, more youthful look. Over time, the natural aging process can lead to loose skin on the neck and vertical neck muscle banding that can have an effect on profile contours and jawline definition. Surgical procedures can address those cosmetic concerns, but not every patient opts for a surgical solution—and with the MyEllevate® technique, some may not even require surgery to obtain optimal results.
MyEllevate® is a closed upper neck lift that supports the jawline and upper neck muscles and skin laxity. The procedure divides the vertical central muscle bands and restores a well-defined jawline without the need for open surgery and general anesthesia. It is a good option for the early changes in the neckline profile that start between ages 35 and 40, and progress in the mid-life period. It can be used with techniques that remove excess skin of the face and neck so that the neck does not need to be opened, even if the face does require open surgery. This minimizes the risk and anesthesia exposure for these more extensive procedures. MyEllevate® is useful for individuals who have undergone a previous face and neck lift and have some recurrence of skin laxity of neck banding, as well as those who desire a cleaner neckline without a return to the operating room for additional face and neck lift procedures.
Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Christine Petti, MD, FACS, is committed to providing patients with customized care and results that look both beautiful and natural. Dr. Petti can meet with you to determine whether MyEllevate® is the ideal solution for your needs.
What Is MyEllevate®?
MyEllevate® is designed to lift the glands and muscles to sculpt the neck and jawline for a smoother and refreshed look. The innovative and non-surgical procedure utilizes an ICLED® light-guided suture system to contour the target areas. The treatment may be a good alternative for patients who are experiencing mild to moderate degrees of sagging or aged skin in the neck and are not ready (or do not need) to undergo a more invasive neck lift surgery.
What Are the Benefits of MyEllevate®?
There are multiple reasons why patients choose MyEllevate®. The treatment is minimally invasive, so general anesthesia is not typically needed. Results can be long-lasting and recovery time is less extensive when compared to a surgical procedure. Additional important benefits of MyEllevate® include:
- No incisions are necessary
- Supports neck glands and bands
- Divides the vertical neck bands without opening the neck
- Relatively short treatment time
- Potential alternative to surgical facelift and neck lift
- Benefits patients of all age groups
- Corrects recurrent laxity and banding after previous face/neck lift
- Minimal downtime
Who Is a Candidate for MyEllevate®?
MyEllevate® can be ideal for those in their 30’s and 40’s who are noticing sagging and lax skin in the jawline area (jowls), a lack of definition underneath their chin, and early signs of aging in the neck; however, MyEllevate® benefits patients of all age groups, from the genetic neck, early aging neck, mid-life neck, and aging neck. Potential candidates should be in relatively good overall health, at or near their preferred weight, and should not smoke. Ultimately, those pursuing MyEllevate® typically desire a more sculpted jawline and a smoother, more youthful neck appearance.
What Does the MyEllevate® Process Entail?
To start the process, Dr. Petti administers local anesthesia to the neck to minimize any potential discomfort. With the ICLED® light guided suture system, sutures are weaved through the underlying upper neck muscles and tissue. This technique allows Dr. Petti to lift and tighten the regions without incisions. MyEllevate® can be performed on its own, or in conjunction with other treatments such as liposuction (if necessary) to obtain optimal results. The whole process typically takes approximately an hour and can be performed in our office.
What Can I Expect During Recovery from the MyEllevate® Neck Lift?
One of the benefits of MyEllevate® is that, for many patients, there is usually only minimal downtime necessary. The recovery process generally requires patients to wear a chin strap for about three to four days following MyEllevate® treatment. After which, most patients can resume their normal routines. It’s common for patients to experience minimal swelling, bruising, tightness, and dimpling, which should begin to fade within a few days. Patients are advised to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous physical activities for at least two weeks.
Additional MyEllevate® FAQs
How much does MyEllevate® cost?
The cost of MyEllevate® varies from patient to patient. Factors that can affect the overall cost include the extent of the treatment, whether MyEllevate® is being combined with another procedure, and other associated fees. At our practice, we accept a variety of payment methods, including third-party financing options for qualified applicants that can make treatments more financially accessible and convenient.
Is MyEllevate® the same as a facelift?
MyEllevate® is not the same as a facelift, which is a surgical procedure that requires general anesthesia and a longer downtime. The level of skin looseness and inelasticity can help determine which procedure is right for you. MyEllevate® may be ideal for those with early signs of aging, while a facelift and neck lift can address more severe sagging in the tissues. MyEllevate® also gives a minimally invasive alternative to patients of all ages, and to patients who have undergone a previous face and neck contouring procedure.
Does MyEllevate® hurt?
Since MyEllevate® typically includes local anesthesia and no required incisions, the treatment should not be excessively uncomfortable or painful. Patients may experience soreness and tightness afterwards, but those feelings usually subside after a few days.
