Our Breast Cancer Awareness Event Was a Success!
We want to thank everyone who attended our breast cancer awareness event at Spa Bella; it was a very fun evening, and we truly hope everyone was able to enjoy themselves, as well as learn a bit more about their health and well-being. This event was a great opportunity for us to share important information with you, as well as get to know you and have a little fun and enjoy some laughs together while we were at it! I am always happy to see my patients, as well as new faces from our community, and it is our pleasure to make everyone feel at home.
We had a great time at the event, where our guests enjoyed specials on BOTOX® Cosmetic and facial fillers, and entered to win fun prizes, such as gift baskets valued at over $1000! The baskets were donated by Allergan and included a variety of gifts, such as Juvéderm™ and BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments! Those in attendance were also able to learn how to perform a self breast examination, and were informed about the signs and symptoms of breast lumps and breast cancer. We shared recommendations from The American Cancer Society regarding mammography, and provided a booklet from Allergan about breast cancer detection, treatment, and breast reconstruction. After speaking to the group about breast health, I met with several of our guests for one-on-one discussions, and advised women who had never had a mammogram, as well as women who had avoided mammography for two or more years, to get a mammogram as soon as possible. These individuals were referred to Torrance Memorial Breast Center where they were able to schedule a mammogram.
Our wonderful financial coordinator, Janet De La Cruz, was instrumental in the organization and execution of this event, but I am extremely grateful to everyone on my staff – they were all imperative to the success of the event – it is very uplifting for us as an organization to connect with our patients on a human, social and relaxed level of communication.
As a plastic surgeon, I believe that I impact women every day through open and down to earth communication, so that they have the information to make the correct and timely decisions for their health. I love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with women and be an advocate for them to maintain the best body and mind they can have for as long as possible to improve the quality and longevity of their lives.
Thank you once again to everyone who helped to make this event a success! We hope to see you again at future events – and we hope to see more of your friends and family, as well. These events are designed to be educational and personalized, in the warm and elegant environment of our medical spa in the Los Angeles area, so we encourage you to bring your spouse or other loved ones with you!
